Nancy Jean (Bagby) Jablonski, 74, died peacefully on Friday, February 9, at her home in Oceanside, California, after a long journey battling Alzheimer’s disease.
Nancy graduated from Robert Bellarmine High School in Burbank, California, in 1967. She then attended CSU Northridge, where she earned a double major in History and Home Economics. Her career began as a teacher, and after a few years, she made a career change to sales in the food industry, working for Milwaukee Seasonings and becoming their first woman salesperson. Nancy outsold all the men in her company, becoming top salesperson three years in a row. Desiring less travel and ever adaptable, Nancy became a valuable employee at the retirement community of Hollenbeck Palms doing sales and marketing. During the many years she worked at Hollenbeck, her positive and confident personality assisted many seniors in adapting to their new community home.
Nancy enjoyed exercising, taking daily walks, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. She always smiled when recalling her trip to Ireland with her son, Steven, who was the joy of her life. Nancy enjoyed collecting Fiestaware and Beanie Babies and had an extensive collection of Hummels. She was a devout Catholic, attending weekly mass at San Luis Rey Mission Church in Oceanside.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Bagby and Jean (Burdette) Bagby, and is survived by her loving son, Steven Jablonski; her brother, Michael Bagby (Diane) of Oceanside; her sister Helen Malboeuf of Walnut Creek; her sister Charlotte Bagby (Tim) of Oakland; her sister Susan Morgan (Gary) of Sonoma; and her ex-husband, Phillip Jablonski.
She is also survived by nephews and nieces Michael Bagby Jr, Irene Rock (Tom), Spencer Morgan, Katherine Bagby Underwood (John), Theresa Bagby Underwood, great niece, Ellie Rock, and great nephew, Jack Rock.
A funeral mass will be held in the Parish Chapel of San Luis Rey Mission Church in Oceanside, California, on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 1:30 pm. A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a memorial donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Please add condolences or memories of Nancy in the Guestbook, below.
