Keith Madison Evans was born on August 28, 1957, and died on May 10, 2025, from complications of Parkinson's Disease. He had a kind, warm soul and a subtle, wry sense of humor.
Keith is survived by his wife, Laura, and his sisters, Sandy Lockwood and Jeffina Evans. He was preceeded in death by his sister, Yvonne Richardson.
A child of the waterways of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Keith spent most of his adult life building boats, from actual construction to supplying parts to boat manufacturers. His career took him from living in cities of the South to towns in the Northeast. He eventually settled in Southern California.
Memories can bring a spark of light and warmth to those of us who have been left behind. Keith's sister Sandy often babysat him when he was small. She found that putting him on a swing would calm him down enough for him to go to sleep relatively easily. One time, she even took him with her on a date to the movies because he wouldn't stop crying when she tried to go out.
Jeffina also has favorite memories of Keith. One was, again, of babysitting. Once when Jeff was taking care of Keith, he locked Jeffina and her boyfriend out of the house. Eventually, the boyfriend was able to get back into the home to let a rather infuriated Jeffina in to deal with Keith. Jeff also remembers the time a few years ago that she met Keith for lunch near the California/Tijuana border. For some reason, Keith brought Jeff a ton of dark chocolate M & M's. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, her flight home was delayed, giving her the opportunity to feast on all of those little chocolate treats.
Laura's memories of Keith could fill a book. One of the best is from their wedding day. She will never forget the tears that he had in his eyes as she walked down the aisle towards him to take their marriage vows to each .
