Joshua Ryan NewnumApril 4, 1983 – November 9, 2025
With profound love and heartbreak, we announce the passing of Joshua Ryan Newnum, who left this world on November 9, 2025, at the age of 42. Born on April 4, 1983, Josh was a quiet soul with a brilliant mind—someone whose depth and humor revealed themselves in the moments you least expected and never forgot.
Josh was introverted by nature, but anyone lucky enough to truly know him understood the extraordinary person beneath the quiet surface. He had a razor-sharp wit and a unique, hysterical sense of humor that could light up an entire room, often delivered in subtle remarks that lingered long after the laughter faded. He was—quietly—the funniest person anywhere he went.
A lover of movies and an old soul when it came to music, Josh found meaning and expression through the artists he cherished. David Bowie, Radiohead, and Conor Oberst were woven into the soundtrack of his life. Music wasn’t just something he enjoyed—it was part of who he was. He was also an exceptional writer with an impressive vocabulary and a gift for capturing ideas with clarity and emotion. His memory was extraordinary; he could recall everything from obscure facts to vivid moments from childhood.
Josh was deeply human—knowledgeable, witty, quick-minded, and thoughtful. Behind his soft-spoken nature was a heart that cared fiercely. He adored his nephews and always made time to connect with his sisters’ children, offering them quiet love, attention, and genuine interest. And above all, Josh loved his mom, Nancy, with a devotion that defined his life. They were buddies, confidants, and constant companions.
Josh is survived by his loving mother, Nancy; his sisters, Jessica and Kellye; and his cherished nephews. He leaves behind a family who loved him immeasurably, and a world that is smaller and quieter without his presence.
Josh’s brilliance, humor, and gentle spirit will forever live in the memories of those who knew him and in every story we tell about him.
May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved.
