Dewaine Otis Batchman

Dewaine Otis Batchman was born on July 19, 1979 in St.Louis, Missouri. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and held firmly to his faith throughout his life. On August 7, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona, he went home to be with the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother Michele Renee Batchman; grandfather Clifford Batchman, grandmothers Ernestine Sanders and Elizabeth Adams and other family members who will no doubt embrace him with open arms in eternity.

Dewaine was a one-of-a kind person whose vibrant presence could light up any room. Loving, energetic, and downright hilarious, he brought endless laughter and joy to those around him. He was full of energy and had an adventurous, spirited personality that made him unforgettable. Naturally athletic and creative, he played baseball and basketball, excelled at playing the clarinet and bass clarinet in his younger years. He also enjoyed outdoor activities and watching sports.

Dewaine poured his whole heart into anything he set his mind to. He absolutely adored his two beautiful daughters. He was also a passionate teacher-playfully guiding his siblings and cousins through music, dance and various karate moves while referring to himself as “the master.” Above all, he was deeply loving, caring and devoted to the people he held dear. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, his humor, his loving heart and the joy he brought to all who knew and loved him.

Dewaine leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Christina Marie Batchman; two beloved daughters, Jadah Jeanine Batchman and Jezziah Michelle Batchman; his father, Otis Leon Adams; his sister, Miranda Elizabeth Vick, and her husband, George Henry Vick Jr.; along with his other siblings, a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, a grandfather and dear friends.

Dewaine was laid to rest in St. Louis, Missouri, with a Celebration of Life to be held in December 2026. His spirit will continue to shine brightly through the stories and cherished memories shared by those who loved him most.
