David Allen Curtis

David Allen Curtis, born on July 14, 1967, entered into eternal rest on September 7, 2026, at the age of 59. 

David was a man who valued hard work, practical skills and staying active. He earned his GED and went on to complete vocational training, earning certificates in both welding and culinary arts. By trade, he worked as a Welder and salesman of welding supplies, he spent more than 25 years in the trade. 

Outside of work, David enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being outdoors and loved being active. He had a vast knowledge of cars, an interest that spoke to his hands-on nature and curiosity. He also enjoyed coin collecting, a hobby passed down from his grandfather Vance, carrying forward a meaningful family connection through the years.

David is survived by his parents, Dennis and Carolann Hayden of Pelion, South Carolina; his brothers, Kevin Hayden and his wife, Tasha, of Statesville, North Carolina, and Todd Hayden and his wife, Kristina, of Statesville, North Carolina; and his sister, Sherry Phelps and her husband, Sterling, of Pelion, South Carolina. He is also survived by his son and daughter, Alan and Ava Curtis of Phoenix, Arizona.

He will also be remembered by his nephews Jesse and Dillon Curtis; his niece Brittany Samuels; his niece Tiffany Foote; his nephew Kevin Hayden Jr.; his niece Alexis Shook; and his nephew Stephen Owens. Among those who held a special place in his life was Cassandra Dawa, a devoted friend whose companionship meant a great deal to him. David leaves behind a family and circle of loved ones who will carry his memory forward with affection and gratitude.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Curtis and Darren Curtis; his niece, Heather Nicole; his maternal grandparents, William and Helen Blair; and his paternal grandparents, Vance and Iola Hayden.

David Allen Curtis will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his knowledge and skill, his love of the outdoors, and the many connections he shared with those around him. His memory will remain with all who knew and loved him.
