Born in Van Nuys, CA, Bryce was three years old when he came to Huntington Beach, California— the son of James Kemp McGall and Vera Belle Giboney, who had recently relocated from Plano, Texas. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in electronics engineering from DeVry Institute of Technology in Phoenix, Arizona in 1986. Returning to “HB,” he worked for Hughes Aircraft for years. Afterward, dedicated to his clients, he provided freelance IT services for decades.
Bryce was blessed with natural bleach-blond hair and bright blue eyes that were unique and adorable. They always garnered him much attention. He was an avid surfer, boater and skier. He loved his labradors… Proton, then Piper. He was passionate about cooking. Likely from his Scottish heritage and his father, he possessed an affinity for all things mechanical. He enjoyed working on his classic VW and bicycles, and of course, was a fixture at the beach.
He had many defining qualities. He was a loyal son and brother. He was intelligent. He was compassionate. He was playful. He was a patient soul with a great sense of humor. You were always glad to see Bryce.
While unexpected and untimely, he passed away peacefully in the company of close family and friends. We try to find comfort in knowing he lived life… never leaving the beach community he loved… on his own terms. He will be greatly missed.
Never married, he is survived by his mother and brother, and a host of long-time friends and other associates.
For the time being, we just want to reflect on all of the admirable qualities he possessed, and on how special he was, and cherish the countless fond memories of his time with us.
